Dr. Catherine Gremley, Psychologist (Postdoctoral)
Dr. Catherine Gremley has ten years of experience in psychological assessment, individual, couples, family, and group therapy with a variety of ages 3 to 90 years old. While earning her doctorate at Midwestern University, Dr. Gremley was recognized for her student leadership and for developing an APPIC-accredited internship program at a Chicago area hospital. Her dissertation focused on raising awareness of youth and adolescent suicidality trends. She spent her early career in hospital administration, developing and overseeing children and adolescent behavioral health hospital programming. She was previously a professor at Concordia University, teaching courses in ethics, diversity, and therapy techniques. Dr. Gremley’s work reflects her passion and dedication to humanitarian advocacy. She spent time collaborating with multi-disciplinary professionals, including FBI, Homeland Security, Mental Health professionals, and Chicago Alderman, to aid in rescue and rehabilitation efforts for victims of human trafficking. She has national experience in speaking and fundraising to raise awareness of diversity and human trafficking.
As a therapist, her clinical work reflects her values of empathy, autonomy, justice, integrity, and empowerment. Areas of clinical interest include ADHD, anxiety, depression, grief, loss, multigenerational, and complex trauma. She takes on a collaborative approach by working together to understand the origin of issues underlying psychological and emotional suffering. She addresses problems holistically, so healing in multiple areas is possible. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is her treatment approach to develop insight into patterns of thinking related to you, relationships, and managing difficult situations. Identifying past patterns and attachments is often the key to a healthier life. She looks forward to being able to assist you on your journey toward healing and wellness.
